Mast Safety question

Anonymous
Not applicable

We have constructed a new multi-storey buidling close to an existing mobile telephone mast, and wish to check on the safety of it for any one using or working on the new building. The first stage is to establish which of the networks place antennae on the mast. We would then like to ask the relevant operator(s) technical information about the antennae such as the number and type of antennae on the mast, the maximum radiated power and maxium effective radiated power from each of them and the antenna gain.

How can we get this information about any O2 equipment on the mast, and any other operators they allow to share usage of it? OFCOM no longer provide an up to date map shwoing the name of the operator on each mast, and instead advise members of the public to approach the operators directly.

You can call customer service but I'm not sure they will give out that information

You can check the cabinets at the base unless on a building they should have emergency contact details and the operator.

Also on the o2 coverage checker you can enable masts and see if it is an o2 mast on the one in question

Does that tell you if they are shared too (which is relevant to the op's question) ?

The op also said this "any O2 equipment on the mast" if the o2 coverage checker says it is not o2 surely it will help them with one less call

@MI5 correct but as the operators stopped supplying data to ofcom the regulator (for public use) how accurate is any third party website. Also o2 as far as I know are the only network to have the mast data enabled in there coverage checker. What have other networks got to hide ?
