Ok @Anonymous I have just double checked and the link I provided for you actually states this

If your device has been lost or stolen, we're available 24 hours a day to help. We can block your device, and send you a new sim with your existing number.

http://www.o2.co.uk/help/phones-and-devices/lost-or-stolen-device

So you need to check when it arrives if it is your old number...

@Anonymous Once your new phone and sim arrive you will still have to call customer service. For security reasons the sim will not be activated until you do.

I DO NOT WORK FOR O2

There will be a block on the account so when you get the new sims you need to call to remove the block.

Yes, the new sim will have your old number on it but CS will need to reactivate your account.

You have called to report the sim lost haven't you?

You are responsible for any calls made if someone else finds it.....
