As far as keeping your old number....as that is in the phone that was reported lost and has been blocked...you will need to check whether they have provided you with your old number on the new sim cardwhen it arrives
It depends whether you asked for this when you ordered your new device?

O2 have said it's now blocked.Will have to wait for my new phone and go from there.thanks for replying
