Lions tour Australia

Anonymous
Not applicable

I am travelling to Australia to watch the British & Irish lions in June and July. I have a UK O2 mobile. I want to be able to speak to my family back in the UK who have O2 mobile and landlines and also to friends within Australia who will be travelling with UK mobiles.

Can you let me know the best option for this so that i dont incur large overseas costs.

Charges are listed here http://www.o2.co.uk/support/internationalandtravel

I'd suggest you turn off data and voicemail before you leave also.
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

The cost is high, 80p receiving/making calls and 40p per text. Is there no bolt on for Australia? I have seen offers with other providers to receive calls for free

There are a number of cheap/free options for calling Australia from the UK but once you are out there you are paying the roaming partner network charges which are set by the partner network.
