Solved: Lend us a quid didn't work

I phoned 4444 and pressed option 6 for lend us a quid. The automated voice said I now have £1.05 but when I tried to send a txt it failed because my phone says I've only 5p! Anyone got any ideas on what to do next?

Top up to start your allowances again if you can.

If you can't make a call from your phone due to lack of funds try from a landline 08448090222 or try live chat.

I thought the whole point of lend a quid was so you didn't have to top up?

If you have funds to top up the phone then yep, you wouldn't need to borrow a quid.

I did say in my post "if you can"

Perhaps the op was nowhere near an outlet or ATM etc to get a voucher.

Not everyone uses the service because they don't have available funds to top up. People I know have used it to help them make a call , send a text until they can get a top up voucher.
