Part of the problem - CLEARLY stated above - is that there is no separate login for people who are already registered with O2 wifi it sends you to the same place as if you never registered any device anywhere then tries to set up another new account.

There is NO WAY for an existing O2 wifi registered customer to get into the Devices page, using their phone number as ID and add the new device.

No, as it says, in my original query had only previously used a phone, current one and an older one, I've never been able to get to the devices page to remove the old handset record, and never needed to use the laptop on O2 wifi.
O2 should take a leaf out of 'The Cloud's ' book - never have any problems with new devices in their hotspots because they don't try and base it on your mobile number, registration is based on an email address and password

I appreciate your frustration jennysue

I hope you find resolution either by your own investigations or that of assistance from official O2 sources.

Take care.

I do apologise but for an issue like this I'd need to suggest contacting our customer services so they can go through diagnostics with you (once you're back at an O2 Wifi hotspot), as this is an issue that we'd be unable to help diagnose here on the community I'm afraid... It sounds like it could potentially be an issue with your O2 Wifi account, which our Guru's would be able to help with further.
