How do I unlock an o2 phone?

Anonymous

I have a Microsoft Lumia 640 LTE that my son used when he first had his o2 acc. Now he uses a different mobile and I want to unlock the Lumia for my daughter to use on another network. How do I get it unlocked?

You will need to use your sons original SIM card I believe to do it

Any o2 sim is fine but if you can use a contract sim to register the phone the unlock will be free.

Otherwise you'll have to pay £15 and use the PAYG option.

I always thought you needed the original sim that came with the phone

Call 02 and ask them to get you an unlocked code, or go to a phone stall and it will cost you 10-15.00

@Anonymous If they do that then they void any warranty they may have on their phone & those market stall types are not guaranteed to actually work
