Home Tariff Abroad

Just a Question that has me scratching my head. Why don't O2 look after customers when they are abroad? Both In Europe and other Continents 3UK let their customers use the Home tariff they are on abroad .Why cant o2 do that? Three are the smallest network of the Majors but yet they offer better customer service and help in saving money, Using my Phone in Florida with 02 Cost me £40 extra on top my usual bill yet my brother used 3uk and the texts, calls and data (he has a unlimited text and data tariff) was just taken from his package. C'mon o2 Get with it Please!!

O2 have O2 travel and offer Tugo to contract customers to use on wifi.

However I do agree it's time they did tweak their services as more and more people take their phones and tablets abroad.

I agree with you on this Many of us have been discussing the same thing that whilst abroad O2 should let us use our allowances... I hope they step up to the mark soon...

You have hit the nail on the head @ry4n.
Three are the smallest player in the UK. They are what is known as a disrupter, a company that challenges the status quo. Its quite common in the US.

Each network has its own promotions:
O2 have Priority / allegedly good network / allegedly good customer service.
Vodafone have sky sports mobile / netflix / Spotify
EE have largest 4g network / orange Wednesdays (soon ending)
Three have multiple roaming / 3g data network.

So in this competitive world you have to choose the network that best suits your needs.

Welcome to the Community.

I travel abroad a lot and nearly changed to 3 because of this ...

However I now have WiFi in my own apartment and most of the places I visit whilst here also have Wifi....so now I have no need to use data roaming. That doesn't stop me realising that others are maybe not quite as lucky. I am in Spain now as I am posting this...from my laptop using Wifi wink

O2 Travel is only applicable in EU countries but still isn't as good as Three, however, they do limit the "feel at home" to countries where their parent company has a network ( Hutchison Telecommunications International ).
They are a god send for me when I travel frequently too but I just wish they would hurry up and add more countries........

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Additionally, whilst they may be a small player in the UK, Worldwide is a completely different story and are one of the largest listed on the Hong Kong stock exchange (so not short of money at all ;))
