No, you can text any UK phone anywhere in the world from your allowances.

Hi @Texts2
As your girlfriend is with O2, she will be advised to get O2 travel activated before she goes to St Lucia.
It costs £4.99 per day and will get her 120 minutes, 120 texts and data.

If she doesn't get O2 Travel she will be charged international rates which are much higher.
Some more advice to reduce costs, is for the pair of you to use Wifi to communicate.
You can chat over messenger and whatsapp entirely free of charge. There are plenty of Wifi spots available in St Lucia.
Finally, ask her to ring O2, again before she travels, to ensure there are no roaming bars on her phone.
Best of luck and I hope she enjoys her holiday

Just for info, these are the international rates she would pay without O2 Travel
