I was thinking of signing up to O2 for their mobile broadband on a month by month basis. Obviosuly this includes the USB dongle which, although I don't need for the netbook (I think!) I will use for my other notebook (An old HP Pavillion).
My question is.....
Can I simply put the SIM card into my new netbook and expect it to work? Also, Can I use the O2 Connection Manager software to manage my connection and send and receive texts, view signal strength, view remaining allowance etc....
Thanks very much!

The notebook comes with HP's own Connection Manager but it tells me the modem is disabled all the time - However, it is enabled in both the device manager and the HP wireless assistant software.
Strangely, when I create a dial-up-connection (using the same settings which work on my desktop PC) it doesn't work either. It gives me an error (619 or 631; I can't remember but will confirm shortly)
Does anyone have any experience in getting this to work with a HP Mini 210-1005sa PC?
Thanks for your help!

I'm going to try re-installing all the connection related software first I think!

I think its something to do with either the software configuration or the way I am turning each device on and off!
I will keep you posted! I am going to uninstall everything and then re-install it again!
Interestingly, just tried a different way of turing things on and off and received 4 sms messages in the process!
Thanks for your help so far!

I have just bought one of these (HP mini) as well. Did the HP guide do the trick?
