Hiya,
I assume you’ve got the 210-1005sa? If so….
Yeh I did manage to get it to work and it was simply me being stupid. Just pop the SIM in the back and away you go! I was controlling the built in WWAN card's on and off state incorrectly. There’s so many ways; HP Wireless Assistant, Windows Device Manager and HP Connection Manager. What I would suggest and I think this is possibly in the guide linked to in a previous post, is that you simply use HP Connection Manager to turn the WWAN card on and off. Just make sure it’s turned on in the other two places!
I'd also, if you haven't got the latest version, upgrade both the WWAN card drivers and HP Connection Manager themselves. The latter update enables you do use the WWAN card’s GPS capability to find your location; something not advertised well!
Here’s the link to the software and driver updates…

Hope this helps!

The point is that with the sim slot built in you won't be able to use O2 CM, and the link shows how to set up and use HP Connection Manager (which is built in) to connect to the web (WWAN), and wi-fi hotspots (WLAN).
It's a bit more drawn out but once set up correctly I imagine it should work just as well.
It's try it and see really.
Thanks for posting back Tim, you are officially our HP Mobile Broadband expert now.
It's awkward to help sometimes when you don't have the same pc as the one giving problems.

My HP is actually the Mini 5102 - basically the same as the 210 but with 2GB RAM. Once I popped the SIM card in, the HP Connection manager did the rest automatically and connected straight away. Not sure how connections to BT Openzone and The Cloud will work as I don't have O2 connection manager installed on the laptop but I guess they will either work based on the mobile number or not!

Thanks for that, it sounds as if it was already on and enabled correctly on your pc.
Please let us know how you get on with the wi-fi connections.
Don't forget it's the number on the O2 MBB sim that you need to use, and BT Fon won't work.
