I have purchased a 5G device through an employee scheme and which to switch to a 5G SIM only deal from 18th Sept. when my current O2 contract expires.

I seems really difficult to find a reasonably priced deal on the O2 website, yet there are plenty of O2 deals available when doing a simple Google search.

Why is this ? ...... and a I missing something ?

@Kippax

These are the sim only deals in the shop. Remember, they do 30 days, 12 months and 18months

https://www.o2.co.uk/shop/sim-cards/sim-only-deals#deviceType=phone&contractLength=Featured

However, if you can find a cheaper O2 sim only deal, then go for that.

There are plenty of places to check - MoneySavingExpert, uSwitch, CompareTheMarket amongst others.

You can also try other retailers directly - buymobiles and mobilephonesdirect @Kippax.

Yes, I understand that, but I have had problems in the past porting the same number to a different SIM card from the same provider.

Is this no longer an issue ?

It’s never been a problem with O2

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

So long as the device plan (if there is one) for the old contract is all paid up then there should be no issue @Kippax.

I and many others have done it a few times - just need to call customer services.
