Dodgy O2 More texts

Anonymous
Not applicable

Hi all,

Getting texts from "O2More" but with links to Moreo2.co.uk. Smells like a scam to me...

address comes back to a

BLUE PARROT FILMS

19 LATCHMERE CLOSE
RICHMOND
UNITED KINGDOM
TW10 5HQ

which is linked to

GPF MEDIA CONSULTING LIMITED
1 CASTLE ROW, HORTICULTURAL PLACE
LONDON
UNITED KINGDOM
W4 4JQ

Director a Robert Bergman mob 07782 324 970 (perhaps he needs some spam?)

the postal address is also linked a struck off company called

IT SERVICES & CONSULTANCY LIMITED.

along with a company called Jjra Technologies Ltd director a "Mr Anoop Joy"

A London address full of dodgy business people, how odd!

Anyone any further info?

Perhaps o2 might like to take a look since they're using the o2 name and targetting o2 customers?

The correct address for O2 More is:

http://www.o2more.co.uk/

so I'd say the one you've been sent is a fake.

Yeah I figured as much but what also concerned me was that it actually came up as from "O2More" i.e. there was no phone number. How do they do that?

I think they must just spam a whole load of numbers.  I got my new phone other week and had not given my number to anyone and I got a PPI spam text?!

this is just unacceptable.

I specifically opted out of any spam texts from O2. a few months back, they texted me saying "looks like you opted, out, if you want to receive promotions, you can sing up bla blah blah" really O2? I ask you to stop spamming me and then you spam me telling me how I can get even more  spam?

And now this stupid stuff from O2 more, which I never  signed up for.

You are incompetent.

There should be a "Stop" prompt in any O2 More messages.

Yep, I agree. I opted out, got the confirmation and they are still trying to entice me into the world of gambling addicts. What next? Will they be offering me drugs? Prostitutes?

I don't like being directly marketed at. Some products are free, and you pay by being an ad target, but I pay for this service service from O2 so they have no excuse.

I really hate marketeers...

I am sorry to hear someone is using o2more as domain to spam people with text messages. This domain was temporary owned by the company mentioned above, when setting up a service for Telefonica o2 about 5 years ago. It has since not been renewed and o2 does not use it either as far as I know. Please contact o2 or ofcom to let them know about this abuse so that they can investigate it and hopefully find a way to stop it.
