Hi folks.

Have joined O2 with sim only. Existing device unlocked, old number trasferred, all up and running but do not like to use public wifi when out and about. When I go onto settings to switch on mobile data, it says switched on but is not connecting to internet.

Any ideas? Do I need to activate anything as it is a new sim set up?

Many thanks

TJ

First try resetting your network connections.

If that doesn't work, send the word "active" to 2020, save settings that are text back and reboot phone.

Also check here for any issues with the network O2 Service Status

Sometimes, just simply rebooting the phone can help too.

Thank you for the advice. Sorry for late reply. Tried all the above but no luck, I now come onto here regularly to check network coverage re data connection and it keeps saying that there is a problem with a mast in my area. A little hacked off as it has been nearly two months now!

Some repairs do seem to be taking a while just lately.

I guess COVID isn't helping the situation.
