Buying memorable numbers (Gold /Platinum) or batch of memorable numbers

Good afternoon

Does anyone know how or who to contact with regard buying trade or wholesale from O2?  I have spoken to customer services who have advised me of the prices for a Platinum number from the network but at £1000 not at all competitive. The gold numbers at £500 can be picked up off of EBay for £60 to £100!

Also does anyone have contacts who deal with memorable numbers who would be prepared to share that info.  Basically I am looking for a steady supply of these numbers from a RELIABLE supplier whether O2 or not.

Any help or suggestions gratefully received.

Generally I agree with Bambino on this. Not many people key in the number. In fact I bet if you looked at your friends list in your phone you would have difficulty in knowing many if not most of the numbers.

There are literally "thousands" of supposedly "Gold" & "Platinum" numbers on ebay and they fetch a few quid at most......

I had a look yesterday just for entertainment purposes and many of the numbers being advertised were certainly not what I would call premium easy to remember numbers.

The descriptions were definitely open to interpretation lol

Yes you are quite right. I sense a certain amount of distaine at that idea? I thought it was a quite reasonable request?

You are quite right in that I buy and sell memorable numbers. I'm not quite sure why you think that networks don't or wouldn't do "that kind of business?" I sense a certain amount of distain in your answer and not quite sure why?

Out of interest, is there a big market for these numbers and what sort of prices to they fetch?

Well there are thousands on eBay for different networks but I would seriously question some of them as to whether they are premium numbers.

Many of them are going for just a couple of quid each

Yes there is a market which, as previous posters rightly say, can vary from similar numbers to catchy or incredibly memorable. There are many reasons for having one. For a business you want to be remembered so an emergency call out tradesman would be first in line with 07777 999 999 or i sell numbers that end 999 to emergency service personnel for a bit of fun.  Other people like birthdays 22  06  1969 which seem irrelevant to the observer. Some like them for vanity. If you have a obviously unusual number people assume you have money. 078787878787 or 0777888777 would be expensive. Good quality brand new numbers can range from £50 up to thousands. Hence my orignal post.... there is a ready supply of customers who want numbers for whatever reason but the quality numbers, and a ready supply of them, is the important thing.
