Any updates for the S3 mini

Anonymous
Not applicable
Hi all.
I am sure this may have been asked many times but I cannot find a clear answer.
Is there any updates for the android OS on the s3 mini either in the pipeline or ever planned.
I love my phone but have never had a update. All other Galaxy S series phones have recieved a updated OS but nothing for the poor little brother.
Any help would be appreciated. I am considering a upgrade depending on the response and am even considering the dreaded iphone as they all recieve updates.
Fot the record I choose the mini Galaxy phones due to size....
Thanks in advance.

4.1.2 is the latest released by Samsung for the S3 Mini and they do not have any plans to update it any further. The phone is now 2 years old which is the end of the life cycle for Samsung updates.

In order to answer I need to know what you've got now.
Can you dial *#1234# and tell me what CSC you are running please?

What version are you on?

Probably one for @Chris_K to answer.

If it's an O2 branded phone he would be the best bet.....

I thought O2 had released 4.3 but to be honest I  wouldn't bother with it.

2 years is about standard (Apple might offer you longer depending on the hardware capability of the device), but you have the chioce of installing a Custom Rom on your phone.

There are three 4.4.4 ROM's on XDA to choose from and countless other levels - It's entirely up to you slight_smile
