I got a message at 2.36am from O2 saying I have used  80% of data. {Which leaves 6Gb . 20%} At 3.57 again awoken by text from O2 saying all of my data has been used. The phone was on mobile connection as usual  with no back up or updates overnight and normally only use 17Gb per month plus I had hardly used the phone that evening.  Can anyone explain the sudden and inconvenient data loss as O2 can’t ?

@GB4

This looks like something you’ll be able to do or check in the My O2 app. We have a guide to help with that if you’re unsure how to use it Guide: How-to guide for My O2 And don’t worry if you get stuck, because there’s an in-app messaging service you can use to chat with O2 who can help. Just go to the ‘Support’ tab and ‘Start a Conversation’ at the bottom.

If you still need help then the Social Media teams will be on hand, just send them a message on Facebook (https://o2uk.co/O2CFB) , Twitter ( https://o2uk.co/O2CTW) or Instagram (https://o2uk.co/O2CIG)

@GB4 You may have apps running or updating in the background that you're not aware of. Best thing to do is ask Apple: Official Apple Support

Thanks, but that doesn’t explain  losing 6Gb of data in just over an hour!

@GB4 We weren't trying to give you an explanation. O2 provides the data, not the way you use it. We are all customers here, which is why I suggested contacting Apple. They would hopefully be able to tell you how to resolve the issue.

On Android you can see which apps have used data if you have set it up.
Not sure if iPhones have the same functionality?

Please note, this is not customer services and we cannot access your account. Do not publish personal details (email, phone number, bank account).

Link to our guide on how to contact them can be found here

You're also able to see this info on iPhone. Any luck checking what used all your data @GB4?
