4G availability

Dear O2, i live in the Bath area and we have just had a 4G transmitter turned on this week.
Can you please advise when you intend to make 4G connectivity available in the Bath area ?

Once the engineers have fitted the equipment (which is a quick process) it then needs to be linked to the fibre broadband network. One that has been done both Openreach and o2 need to do testing. This may result in you seeing intermittent 4g coverage whilst this happens. It will be on low power and may also limit or restrict your 3g access for a while (can't help that, if we want upgrades there is some pain inbetween).

Over a period of approx 2 weeks the testing will continue. Note the potential for intermittent signal during this period. As the testing gets going the power will be gradually increased on both 3g and 4g. Assuming it all works fine the upgrade will be signed off and it will go to full power.

Whilst timings are not guaranteed an upgrade can take as little as 2 weeks or it could take a month or more. Patience during this phase is a virtue that will ultimately get you download speeds of up to 50mb per second.
