4G Speeds

Anonymous
Not applicable

Hello,

I just wanted to ask that will O2 ever be able to provide 4G speeds comparable to EE 4G double speed (i.e. 100 mbps and already testing 300 mbps in East London).

As I have noticed that O2 has completely ignored to talk about its 4G speed or give any numbers and has entirely concentrated on its great indoor coverage.

According to me coverage is vital but 4G is all about speed and data.

Speed is always going to be related to the number of people connected at the time, whether 4G, HSPA+ or 3G, and will fluctuate accordingly, whatever the network.

No-one will reach a theoretical maximum in the real world.

I'm also happy with the 4G speeds I get on O2.

To you maybe, to most it will be better coverage on 2G 3G and 4G than any other network.

@ MI5 my partner has EE 4G on which she gets 75 to 80 Mbps and I saw EE LTE-A in tech city which reaches 250+
@ perksie now O2 can utilise its 900 MHz to provide better coverage for voice and data with slower speeds as major chunk of high speed data shifts to 800 MHz but 800 MHz frequency is only for data as no volte at the moment so it's all about speed on 4G (800 MHz). In densely populated cities as customer base increase cell sites will get smaller to cater to increasing customer and coverage won't be important at that time otherwise it will be full network but will say network busy/congested.

I agree that O2 is providing a good service but it doesn't answer as to why O2 can't provide any number for its 4G speed.

If coverage and making calls with snail speed of edge was everything than 2G on full power could easily solve that problem no real need for 3G or 4G.
