Sending MMS on wifi 4g calling

As I now use wifi and 4g calling does this mean that MMS are now free? I can't see why you would still need to charge for them?

You don’t get free mms on WiFi & 4G Calling as that option does not support mms or sms so you still pay

Nothing is free on o2 and you have always needed data to send an MMS which have never been free.
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Currently using:
Pixel 7a (O2 & Lyca), One Plus 6 (Sfr), iPhone 12 Pro Max (Vodafone)

Why do you expect mms to be free over WiFi or 4G ?

The infrastructure to provide this over VoLTE platforms isn’t cheap, and needs a lot of work to implement.
- Xperia 1V - o2 and Spusu
- Pixel 8 Pro - o2 and Vodafone UK
