You can choose a song from the Music app’s library and set it as your phone’s ringtone or a ringtone for a certain contact.
- From the Home screen, tap
> Music.
- Tap
to go to the library.
- In the library, choose the song that you want to use as ringtone and then play it back.
- On the Now playing screen, press
and then tap More > Set as ringtone.
- If you chose an MP3 song, you can trim it first and set the part that you trimmed as the ringtone.
- In the Set as ringtone options menu, tap Phone ringtone or Contact ringtone. If you select Contact ringtone, you need to choose the contacts you want to associate the song with in the next screen.

All in your User's Guide, if you took the time to read it
Choosing notification sounds
Choose different sounds for different types of notifications. You can use different
sounds for incoming text or chat messages, voicemail, and email notifications.
1. On the Start screen, slide to the left.
2. Tap Settings > ringtones+sounds.
3. Tap the box for each notification type, and then choose a sound to assign to it.
You can also turn on or off notification sounds for reminders and actions such
as keypress, camera shutter, and more.

I don't have a Windows phone so can't be sure but I am assuming that is teh button you would use to get into your "Apps" or something similar!
Do you know how to get into your music? If you do, miss out the first line!
