o2 signal

Anonymous
Not applicable

My o2 signal has constantly shown as 'sos' for the past 24 hours and I am in an environment where I should have signal. This occurred at random and I cannot receive text messages or phone calls. Do I need a new sim or is it happening to others as well as me? What can I do to fix it?

We've got some problems with our phone service right now. Some phone numbers might not be working at all. Those numbers could be anywhere in the UK or abroad.

Have you checked the Status of your area to see if O2 are performing any maintainance on the masts in your area.

Try cleaning your SIM card.

Reset the network settings in your phone.

Possibly swap the sim by picking one up from an o2 shop and get them to sim swap.

Even if the mast is showing ok you can challenge it.

Try your sim in an alternative handset

Update 23:45hrs

The intermittent problems experienced by some of our customers today have now been resolved.

Routine upgrade work on our 2G and 3G networks led to unexpected congestion affecting around 1% of O2 customers. We apologise to those customers and thank them for their patience.
