new mobile phone isnt working even though ive put the micro sim in it

I got the new blackberry q10 today and have put the micro sim into it and asked to keep the same number. The phone is saying that it has emergency calls only and wont let me make a call or send a txt. I cant put my old sim card into it as it isnt a micro sim

USe the Swap my SIM service. You'll need your old SIM in your old phone to receive the text code though.

Number swaps can take up to 24 hours, but generally they happen straight away.

Hopefully you are now able to use your Q10, but if not then follow the SIM Swap links in the posts above.
