As far as I'm aware it has never been possible to sync Outlook Express with any Windows phone, even going back to Windows Mobile 6.5 or earlier.

It was always necessary to have the full version of Outlook installed previously though I understand Outlook.com (previously Hotmail.com) will allow you to sync.

XP has nothing to do with the phone - I don't understand?

You really will need to upgrade from Windows XP (no longer supported by Microsoft from April 2014) and Outlook Express no longer exists now , you should be using

for your email service.

It should be possible to sync this with your Microsoft email account on your phone.

Outlook express is an email client - Not a provider - so that makes no sense.....????

If they come back I'm sure we could sort this out for them.

Outlook.com certainly does as this is a webmail service not just a client.....

You're right and it's very obsolete too.
