emails on nokia lumia

i am unable to pick up emails on my lumia 820 they were coming through fine but just stopped the phone is checking for messages but not picking them up , i have deleted and reset the account as advised by the o2 technical people but it is still not working can anyone help please

I'll take a guess at o2 email which has been closed down.......?

my settings are: incoming server:pop3.virginmedia.com:995:1 outgoing server:smtp.virginmedia.com:465:1

You should be using IMAP on Port 993 for incoming and have SSL ticked. The SMTP setting is OK (also with SSL ticked).
Also make sure you have ticked "My server requires authentication" in IMAP incoming page.
