This is a common problem that appeared after the last OS update. If you have done the latest update and still had all of your texts then, like me, you are one of the lucky ones! however the downside is that the SMS database has become corrupted and so we get stuck with this issue where too many texts essentially causes the SMS side of the OS to hang.

I was able to fix my phone though after the update by doing the following:

1. Hold down the power button to switch the phone off, but keep it pressed for a good 30 seconds after it has started back up when the loading screen appears with the BlackBerry logo and the blue circle that goes round it.

2. Leave the phone for 5 minutes or so to allow it to start up and build the hub.

3. Once the 5 minutes has passed, go into your Contacts app, select a contact and send them an SMS from here.

4. Now check your hub, you should be able to get into all of your SMS conversations again.

5. Now might be a good time to clear out some old text conversations as long conversations make the matter worse.

On the plus side, this is all fixed in the next update that is due out next week!

The issue of text messages sometimes not being delivered or being delivered later or all at once when you reboot your phone is a network issue not handset dependant.

It just happens which a user cannot do anything to remedy.

While I agree that this is often the case, in this instance it is a documented issue on BlackBerry related support forums that Z10 owners have experienced since the last official OS update, which I also suffer from intermittently.

It's always good to clear out unneeded messages periodically anyway, whichever phone it is.

This was one of the many issues that I had with my Blackberry.

No matter how many times I deleted a message, the main thread would still be there even though there was no text in it.

Luckily I don't have a Blackberry anymore

But I hope the advice from PapaDug helps with your problem
