I've read the instructions in detail but I can't switch this on - the option for VVM here just isn't listed - I'm using WP8.10.12397.895 which is reported as the most recent version, and I'm on an O2 pay monthly contract - help!

You need an O2 branded phone with O2 firmware on it.

Does your phone have O2 firmware on it and have you got the correct data plan on your tariff?

I'll flag this for @Chris_K to take a look at for you.

I'm afraid that isn't one of the O2 firmwares - it's an open market one which typically happens when you have a SIM free device such as those purchased from the likes of Carphone Warehouse. Unfortunately the open market software can't detect when an O2 SIM is inserted in order to provide you with the VVM options.
