Hello,

I have  Nokia Lumia 610 running WP7.8 on O2 PayAndGo.

In the last week I have been unable to send or receive texts.

Can anyone suggest what the problem may be?

Is there not an update to 8.1 available for your phone as this would most likely fix your problem?

Apparently not, as I'm told that no WP7x phones can run WP8.

Hi OP here,

So I went all the way to the O2 store and got a new SIM, waited 24 hours for it to connect, and managed to send just one text and receive 2 before it stopped messaging!

I contacted customer services, who said to take the SIM out and replace it, which I did, and sent a text and received one.  They said "there you go, fixed", I said "I don't want to reboot every time I want to send one text", they said "it's fixed, you won't have to, goodbye".

10 minutes later I couldn't send or receive a text!!!

So where do I go from here?  I still think there's a wrong setting somewhere on the phone, quite possibly something to do with MMS.

Any suggestions, pleeeeeease?

John

It sounds like it could be a faulty phone as you've checked everything else.....?

Last resort before you send the phone for repair. Try forcing the phone onto the Vodafone network, it will give an error message.  Select o2 again. Switch the phone off, remove and replace the sim card, switch the phone on again and try it.

Try a manual network search....

It just does the same thing as rebooting so not holding out much hope but anything is worth a try at this stage.
