Sim Swap, can I get new number?

Anonymous
Not applicable

Hello I just upgraded my Monthly contract and I received my new phone today, my issue is that I wanted to keep the phone number on the phone that I had previously separate as a business contact on pay as you go. If I swap sims then that will invalidate the Sim and transfer it to the new phone, so I was wondering if I can get a new Sim and phone number for my new contract while transferring my previous contract sim to Pay as you go. I can't find anything on the site to answer this question so I'm very confused. Basically, can I get a new number for my new contract and phone while keeping my previous sim also.

You should have taken the upgrade with a new number and taken your old number directly to PAYG. It might be more difficult now as you have just effectively started a new 2 year contract....

You could have asked for it, O2 wouldn't know otherwise.
