What does SIM not provisioned mean?

My new blackberry is showing SIM not provisioned:2. What does this mean? I was told the sim would be registered, as its a replacement for a lost phone. Thank you

It means that your account hasn't been set up with BIS. Give CS a call to get it sorted. I presume you previously had a BB and not another data enabled phone? If not then get them to swap the data part to a BB and you should be fine.
