Question about lumia 800 unlocking

Anonymous
Not applicable

Hi guys, just ordered today the lumia 800 with the 20% off to give it as a birthday present to my girlfriend from Greece. So I asked the online chat about unlocking it and they told me that I can do that for 15pounds which seemed ok for me and I ordered it. Then I saw that it might takes 12 months to unlock it? and is it possible to work in any network afterwards? If not can I cancel the order before I receive it and get a refund?

Thanks in advance,

Harris

If the phone is locked to O2 on P&G then you can't unlock for 12 months. There is an outside chance it may not be network locked but to avoid disappointment I would cancel.

You had best ring O2 tomorrow and see if you can cancel it.

They don't sell subsidised phones so you can run straight off to another network with them.

After 12 months on Pay and Go they will unlock it.

Your best bet is to get a sim free phone.

Best to do it where you ordered it.
