Pending usually means waiting....or unfinished, incomplete....You may need to do something else...Or if you have placed an order you will be waiting to see if it is accepted...Check again tomorrow
If you have sent a text and it is pending....you may need to resend it... and check your network status here

It may well be that the OP means he has a delivery report which states pending against the message.
o2 do not use delivery reports in what most would expect to be the usual way - an option on the handset.
Instead it seems as though you need to use a code at the start of the message - *0#.
