Hello,

Can any one confirm they get 5G on there Samsung Galaxy S20+ 5G on the o2 Network? This is with the latest firmware.

I have just moved on to a 5G plan on o2 and whilst in many o2 5G areas I never get 5G. It goes to 4G+ but never 5G. I have a new 5G o2 sim etc....

As soon as I put a 3 network sim in I get 5G all day long in "3's" 5G areas.

Does anyone actually get 5G on any phone with o2?

Thanks

@Tim22 Check to see if there are any mast issues in your area: O2 | Service Status

Thanks. Unfortunately the Status always comes back working o.k. Plus my problem is not limited to one area. I travel between Nottingham and Derby and hit around 8 5G areas according to the o2 map but have never got 5G. This is whilst on Foot.

@Tim22

If you can't get 5G, it may be due to mast congestion. I would just stick to 4G+ for now and when O2 have sorted out the masts to cope with need, you should be able to get it OK.

@Tim22 You can download the My Network app and report the issue: O2 | Apps | My Network - Find Out More About Your Network Coverage

Have you got 5g turned on. When I switched from my note to s21 ultra it took over all my settings. As my old phone didn't have 5g it was set to turned off and this setting transferred to my new phone

Hi. Yes 5G is turned on. I got a new 5G sim and did a sim swap today but unfortunately still not getting 5G data.

Like I said as soon as I put a 3 sim into the phone I always get 5G so not sure whether it's something on o2 end or some compatibility thing with the phone and o2.
