Nokia Lumia 610 and Sky email set up problems

Anonymous
Not applicable

I love my new Lumia 610 but I'm having problems setting up my Sky email. Can anyone advise me?

I've gone to 'email and account settings', then 'add an account', I enter my username (which is my email address), and then I type in the password for my Sky account, press 'save' and then it just says syncronising, and after a while I get asked to enter my password again, this keeps happening over and over. It then says "attention required".  Any help most gratefully received, thanks all. Annie

Hi Jonsie, thanks but I'm now using the new email address and have set up forwarding from my original addy to the new one on Sky webmail. I deleted and reset so many times and I'd just had enough - lol! Thanks for your help though.

Check you are entering the correct password. Letters are case sensitive and check o's and zero's.

Hi there,

Thanks but I've tried and tried and I'm definitely using the right password and typing it in correctly, I've been trying since the 3rd Jan, law of averages, well I reckon I would have got it right at least once by now.  I'm completely baffled.

It also says "downloading messages This might take a few minutes..." but then after about 3 minutes the username password screen comes up again asking for my password... 😞

I don't get the option to add these items. As soon as I type in my username which is an email address it automatically takes the Sky part of the address and just asks for the password, not allowing me to enter anything manually.

As an experiment, I have just created a second sky email address, I tried it on the Lumia and it's worked like a dream so maybe Sky has limited how many bits of kit I can get my email on, on my usual email address!!  I have it set up on my Kindle HD and it works fine. I think I might give up now but thanks so much for taking the time to try and help me, much appreciated.

Sky wouldn't do that.

It has to be a problem with the original settings on the phone. Delete your main Sky account and set it up manually using the same settings as the new account you set up.
