I have a new Nokia 620 which has a nice internet sharing feature for tethering and it connects without effort to my Asus Windows 8 tablet. As I am going away for a couple of days I thought great I'll just get an extra GB of data as a BoltOn for a tenner: it's called something like "the Works". Well don't believe it because after I have bought the data they tell me that tethering is not permitted on Pay as you Go. Other companies can do it so why not O2. Needless to say I think I'll be going elsewhere with my custom in future.

Tethering is commonly not allowed on PAYG except on specific tariffs or bolt ons.
Giffgaff (uses o2 so phone does not need unlocking normally) you can tether with the £10 goodybag but not the ones with unlimited internet.
