If you're not even getting a 2G/GPRS signal then it really means one of five things:
1)There isn't a signal where you are currently
2)Your mobile network is turned off
3)Your O2 SIM/account isn't active
4)The SIM is faulty
5)It isnt an O2 SIM thats inserted
I'd suggest waiting until you get back to the UK and see how it behaves then. If you still have problems then take it into an O2 shop and see if a Guru can help.
Sorry I can't be of any more help to you 😞

I am abroad. Phone cannot connect to network but give message Limited service, emergency calls lonely. WHY ?
2- Back to UK on Monday, so I wonder if my phone will connect to O2 as normal.
3- I have searched O2 forums and BB knowledge base, solutions suggested tried but still no success.
Network status indicator shows "SOS" on the BlackBerry smartphone
Hope that is clear now.
Thanks

I'm not a Blackberry person, so my knowledge would be limited. Did you have International Travel set up with O2 before you left? Is there a setting on your phone for roaming? If so, is it turned on?
The only way you will know if your phone will connect to O2 when you get back is to turn it on and see for yourself. If you have an O2 sim, there should be no problem, but I couldn't say for sure.

Roaming is on. But data services if off while roaming. Seem to be stuck or roaming is off but not sure how to set it back to on as this is an automatic service done by the phone. I will search the BB knowledge base.
Thanks.

Have you turned the Mobile Network off by mistake when you have turned "Data Services while roaming" on?
When you are abroad, your settings ideally should be:
Under "Manage Connections" ensure the option for Mobile Network is ticked
Under Mobile Network, the settings should be:
Data Services: On
While roaming: Off (unless you want data while abroad, in which case turn it On)
Network Mode: 3G & 2G
Network Selection Mode: Automatic
Your phone should work when you get back to the UK if all of these settings are correct. If not, first of all try a battery pull. If that doesn't work you may need to resend Service Books:

I am going to check the Books. Will keep you updated.
I have done all what you wrote about Paul battery, pul SIM card.
Manage connections, turned of and on again many times.
Automatic will find and select network display correctly, but only SOS icon display.
If you are sure my phone will work in UK. I am happy for now. Thank god we have other devices.
Thanks for all your help. Really appreciate.

It sounds from that message as though you haven't been able to connect to a cellular network.
It could be that there is no coverage just now where you are, or O2 don't have a partner in the country you are in. You might find this resolves once you move away from the area you are in.
