New Phone-seem have used a lot of data

I only just joined o2 three days ago, with a Nokia Lumia 520, its the first time I've used this type of phone, so I'm trying to figure things out, I only chose to have 100mb of data as this is enough for me, but in the three days I've had the phone I've used about 60% of data - anybody any idea of what  I'm doing wrong, thanks.

Apps running in the background can consume data and receiving emails with large attachments etc. Obviously surfing the internet a lot, including social networking sites, will also eat away at you allowance. I'm also on the 100 mb data package on my Blackberry but tend to use the internet only occasionally and send and receive the odd email here and there. I get through about 20% of my allowance per month on average. Having said that BB OS7 and earlier use data compression which helps make it go further.

Another tip is to use a wifi connection where possible to save on data charges.

Hi,

Here is a nice link regarding how to save on Data.

I do think however that you possibly need to think about increasing your Data Bundle to suit your needs.
