My Blackberry Torch freezes all the time

Anonymous
Not applicable

I have persevered with my Blackberry Torch because I quite liked it at first, but after about 3 months so many problems have arisen.  First of all, all sound just completely disapeared.  I could only hear sound if the earphones were connected!!  No matter what I did, nothing worked.  Then about 3 weeks later, for no apparent reason the sound just came back on again.  Mystery.

But increasingly over the last few months my handset has rapidly become slower and slower in performing any task, constantly freezing, up to 10 times in one day!!  It is driving me absolutely crazy.

I have done the endless battery pulls and updates blah de blah de blah and it makes no difference.

I seriously do not want this handset anymore unless there is some miracle cure I do not know about.

Which Torch do you have and what operating system version are you running?

Look at Options > Device > About, third line down beginning with a "v.7.0.x.xxx", What is yours?

You might also want to have a look at this site which advises of a few apps that might help make all the difference:

Have you tried doing a full restore from BBDM. You've said you've done battery pulls and updates but a complete wipe and install in rule out software issues. If still slow and laggy after a restore send it in for repair.
