Music on Laptop

Anonymous

Having successfully got a new cd out of laptop, it was stuck, I would like to listen to it.

I don't know what to do as there is no multi-media icon which looks like an orange and white traffic cone.

Any help would be appreciated.

Type VLC player in the search box.

If not already installed, it will give you a link to download from app store.

Have you checked you haven't turned the volume down or off?
Look for a speaker in the bottom right corner of the screen - does it have a line through it or some lines next to it?

Thank you @gmarkj

the icon you refer to does not have a line through it or an x

Just checked the blue line is up to 100

I have just taken the cd out of the slot just to check it is a cd and not a dvd ... it is a cd

I'm just a jinx with tech right now slight_frown

Can you hear anything if you play a YouTube video instead of the CD?
