Somehow the app was updated and it's frustratingly worse! Can't seem to get the shutter sound back - sometimes i can't tell whether a photo has been taken, although sometimes "processing photo" pops up. I always got a sound before. also, camera keeps freezing. It comes back later when i exit the app and go back in but it is so unreliable. any ideas?

Settings >Apps >Camera and clear data / reset.

Reboot and try it again.
