Lumia 520 can open MMS

Recently bought 520 but I can't view photos sent via TXT ,Ive checked th settings and thy are as they should be...any suggestions?

Roaming on makes no difference if you are in UK and the settings are listed in post 4 of this thread.

i have been charged before when I first bought the phone and was advised on this forum to turn off!

If you are referring to data roaming (?) it only has an effect when connecting to non UK networks, so won't make any difference in the vast majority of the UK.
If you just mean data you can turn this off to save the £1 a day web daily charge (if no data allowance) but you won't be able to send and receive MMS messages with it off.

okay thankyou so does that mean if I receive a mms message and turn on data to see it on my allowance then turn back off it will work?   do you know how much 500mg would be for a picture message?  many thanks

Yes, it should work ok that way for you.
If you don't have any data allowance it will cost you £1 for the day you turn data on.
