Keys on phone keep freezing so I cant text

The keys on my phone keep freezing and preventing me from texting or going on the net.

Is software I need to download or will I need a new keyboard?

Hi, it happened the other day and I took advice to remove battery and it cured it until last night. Now my keys have froze again and I cant even send a text or access internet. Is there any software I should download or will I have to replace keys?

Sorry, I forgot to mention what phone Im on about. Its the Blackberry Bold 9700

Personally I would try a factory reset/install but this is down to yourself. 

I had a quick look online and if the factory reset does not work then it is a faulty phone. 

I found this as a possible cause finder.....

do u use original theme bb?

try to restart ur phone, while the phone restarting try to pres alt button, if u can see logo alt in top rigt of corrner ur screen then the problem come from ur themes or apps.

if u can't see logo alt that mean ur keypad or trackpad are dead
