Is it normal for new phones to be delivered through letterboxes and dropped on floor?

I made sure I was home today as my new phone would be delivered.

Within seconds the delivery driver rammed it through my letterbox, resulting in it falling on the floor.

I tried calling O2 3 times but after their frustrating automatic pre-selection messages it just hangs up.

I have had an issue with an iPhone before where the WiFi chip kept overheating, making the phone unusable which was not under warranty as they blamed it on ‘hardware’ and being dropped despite me telling them this did not happen.

I’m really annoyed as I thought it would need to be signed for?? Haven’t even opened the parcel yet and not sure what to do, even if the box isn’t dented etc that doesn’t mean the phone is shock proof?!

Is it normal for new phones to get delivered like this??

To be honest, you would be horrified at how parcels are handled by couriers

Most are thrown about in the depot

There should be adequate polystyrene packaging to protect it
