Just been told that it will be very soon but wouldnt give me a time frame. Also said they are liasing with HTC for it, although someone told me O2 was testing it and that it would be released once it has passed. I think my next phone will be sim free to get away from the hassle.

Thanks for finding this out.  Very useful info.  It's true that sim free get their updates a bit quicker, but if O2 are good to their word it won't be much of  a wait, hopefully!

Any more news on when this is going to happen? Very frustrated with the lack of clear information anywhere.

Ive heard nothing, i think they (O2) will say anything but wont commit unless your getting your pac code and then tell you it isnt coming. I wouldnt be surprised if ive just been given information that i want to hear just to get rid of me. I think O2 should have a page with updates/news on what devices are getting updates and roughly when this will be whether its Android, Windows Phone, iOS etc etc.

My advice is if you expect/want updates for your phone then get it sim free, the technical ability ive been shown by some of these Guru's is frightening and im surprised. Its a posh name made by marketing to make you think that you are talking to someone who understands when at the end of the day it is more than likely either someone in another country that may have the knowledge but are restrained by the language barrier and then again it could be a monkey in a booth in uk. Shocking, lost my respect.

I seriously hope they are going to release this update at some point because if they decide to not bother then that will definitely affect any future decision i make on choice of brand and network i go with.

As an early adopter of the Windows phone i'm not impressed with the level of service we've received over the past few months at all.

Totally agree. I phoned O2 up and they told me that if my HTC7 doesn't find a update when plugging it into Zune that I should take it into my local store as the phone is faulty. Took it in the next day and told them the problem and the Guru had a look at it, all the Guru did was try to plug the phone into Zune and was told there was no updates despite me saying that was the issue originally. Then after a debate (they went saying that there was no updates because my phone was on the latest version already, I said no its not as other HTC HD7s not locked to O2, and now it seems other HTC HD7s have gotten the update but mine isnt, so there is a update out there. They said that it might just be slow at receiving the update, or they could send it to HTC for repair for £25.

In the end I got the phone unlocked, but still not got any updates, and its been over a week now. Not impressed by both the lack of knowledge shown by the Gurus and the staff members, also the lack of knowledge shown by O2 on this matter. I think i'll be leaving O2 when my contract ends later this year.
