Because the device can connect to Wi-Fi networks, so you don't need to have your phone.

The 2 devices look exactly the same just different insides, its the same as the Watch 3, both variants look exactly the same, the only difference is the model number.

As i said o2 dont support the Galaxy Watch 4G, and if you could the only way to do so is via the Wearables App.

I have a Galaxy Watch 4G (unlocked) and it wont connect to o2 either, it will only connect to EE or Vodafone.

@Ianipswich

It was just causing confusion as yours is not the watch 3, but no need to post another thread as the answer will be the same now it's clear which watch you have.

Unfortunately, it isn't going to work with O2. You'll need to switch to a network that supports the watch 4g.

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Currently using:
Pixel 7a (O2 & Lyca), One Plus 6 (Sfr), iPhone 12 Pro Max (Vodafone)

@madasaf1sh  (and) @MI5   OK, that seems to be the answer then, that the Galaxy Watch 4G is not supported on O2. It just seems silly that it isn't - what can the difference be?! It still contains an esim that would surely work exactly the same as the esim in the Galaxy Watch 3?!! What exactly could the difference be that means O2 can't support the Galaxy Watch 4G?! It just seems crazy to me.

@MI5  Sorry I posted in the wrong thread, but hopefully this will help anyone else who is possibly having the same problem?!

Thanks again for all the replies.
