Diconnect from internet Nokia Asha 300

Anonymous
Not applicable

Live chat unable to help and assure me that when the boxed G or boxed E symbol appears next to the battery life indicator, it mereley means that an interrnet connection is open and that I am not using any data.  However, I have not been using the internet on the mobile, yet checking my account data is being used!    I think  it may be useful to keep option to connect but want to do this at my choice not randomly connecting as this phone seems to do.  Just upgraded from same phone - didn't have this problem with previous. Can anyone advise how to disconnet from internet on Nokia Asha 300 when internet use not required?

Much appreciated

It will do. It will connect "when needed" ie when the phone wants to update an app or something else that requires data..... The only other option is to disable your apn which will block the data path permanently but you would have to re edit it every time you wanted to use data.

Look in connectivity settings for "when required" rather than "always on".

Connectivity - Bluetooth, Packet data or USB data cable
There is no option to select "when required" or "always on"!

So where it says "packet data when needed" do you have the option to select "never" or "off" ?

It seems when needed is the one to go for then. It looks like Nokia have removed an "off" option.....

Thanks - but this option is (and was) already selected, but phone still connects to internet randomly at will.
