Data connection not working on Nokia Lumia 710

Anonymous

Hello!

I am using the Nokia lumia 710 on Windows 7.5,  and I have recently switched my PAYG tariff from 'Favourite Place' to 'Text and Web' I change on the 24th of January 2013,  and I have topped up £10 the night that I did it, this morning (the 25th) I received a text telling me I have been switched over to Text and Web, I also got a text telling me I have 300 free texts and 500MB of data usage, I have received the settings that activates MMS and Internet, but the Internet still does not work!  All it says is that I have 'H' connection and it will not download any data.  Please help as I have waited for AGES to get mobile data on my phone and I got my hopes up, but where soon dashed as it does not work.

Thank you!

You need to ensure that you have a media messaging mobile and that you have the correct settings. Please click on the 'O2 Settings' link below to download the media messaging settings for your mobile. If your mobile is not listed then please use the generic settings below:

  • Data bearer: GPRS

  • Security: Non-secure

  • IP Address: 193.113.200.195

  • APN: payandgo.o2.co.uk (Pay & Go™)

  • Username: payandgo (Pay & Go™)

  • Password: password

  • Authentication: Normal

  • Homepage: http://mmsc.mms.o2.co.uk:8002

Have you removed battery and sim then replaced and rebooted the phone?

Ok then. You need to check in network settings that you have the correct apn enabled and also make sure you have Use Data ticked.

Ok, so I have got the Data connection working by putting in the apn: payandgo.o2.co.uk.  now its just the MMS that is not working.  Do I need to put anything else into the apn settings apart from payandgo.o2.co.uk?

Wait please! some of the options there I do not have, these include: Data bearer, security, IP address authentication, but I'm not sure what the Homepage is, it won't load on my phones internet browser so I assume that's a setting too

Either your phone or SIM does not appear to be able to process your data signal. It may be a network error or phone / sim / account issue.
