I have an old handset (Nokia E7) which wont accept any Sim cards (Invalid SIM) is the
message I get with other providers, this handset was for a contract that has finished
so im assuming its blocked, (I've checked online and I owe nothing)
Can this be released with the online chat or is there a number I can phone ?
Cheers
L.

The SIM in it now is the old O2 one, this comes up with SIM registration failed, I'm not with
O2 anymore now, better deal elsewhere and all that.
I'll see if I can find someone with an O2 handset and borrow their SIM for a mo.
Cheers

That will be because your account is no longer active. A fresh o2 sim will confirm.

I think you and Wanty may have sussed it, my account no longer shows a number rather a 'Disconnected' one.
I'll see if I can find an O2 user and try their SIM, failing that perhaps a call to O2 customer
services to see if they can unblock it. I have all my old details still, is this something the
Online help could help with ?

Yes either ask a friend who uses o2 to insert their sim card in your phone, make a few calls to latch the imei to their account and they request the unlock or follow my advice to get a payg sim, top up £20, make a few chargeable calls and use £15 of that top up to pay the fee.

They may be able to help but you would be better off calling CS, as wanty says, if your details are still on the system and you can remember your security details, you may not need to do anything else.
You can call from a non O2 phone or from a landline 0844 809 0202
