Blackberry Bold playing up

Anonymous
Not applicable

My other half has just got herself an Iphone as an upgrade,So not wanting to feel left out had her Blackberry Bold hand me down ( been using a XDA Stelllar up till now):smileyhappy:

The trouble i am having is that there is no network, only sos calls and "phone not allowed" error message.

I have a brand new sim for it from O2 for the Blackberry but still no joy , Even If i put the original sim back in it it still comes up with the error

Can anything be done to fix this problem or has it become an expensive paper wieght?

Sometimes the SIM doesn't make good contact so a little trick is to stick some cellotape to the back of the sim (not the gold side ;)) to slightly thicken its overall size. Trim around the shape of the sim carefully and try it again.

Sounds like the phone is locked to another network. Was it originally on o2? Does the new sim work in the Stellar?

Yes the phone is locked to the O2 network (she got it new and has never had it unlocked)

I have tried putting her sim back in but still comes up with the error

I will try my new sim in the Stellar as soon as i get home
