BB Bold 9900 & O2 PUFFL SIM card

Anonymous
Not applicable

My existing SIM is a very old BT Cellnet / O2 Pay Up Front For Life type, where I bought my original handset many moons ago for about £150 but would never have to pay any line rental.

I have been given a Blackberry Bold 9900 and I have had the handset unlocked. When I insert my SIM I am able to input my existing PIN, which is recognised and the handset picks up the O2 network with no problems.

The issue I have is that I can no longer access any information on the SIM such as contact numbers etc. On one occasion the handset asked for a PUK. I tried entering the code that unlocked the handset (before I found out that the PUK is a different thing entirely) which obviously didn't work but it hasn't asked for a PUK at any time since.

Is htere a way around this or do I just have to resign myself to the fact that I will need to re-enter all my contacts?

In all other respects the handset works fine.
